Dataset

This dataset provides all of the materials of the serious game "Together We Flow: Shared Values in Transboundary River Basin Allocation". This serious game was developed with a dual purpose. The first is to assess how players prioritize different "values" (or uses) of water in a transboundary river basin, allowing researchers to see which values are most important to them. The second is to encourage cooperation and social learning among participants. Materials include the facilitator guide, game board, cards, play money, and a link to the digital scoresheet. The game was developed at the University of Twente as part of the EU Horizon WE-ACT Project and tested in five sessions with students, PhD researchers, project partners, and university staff. It was also played in a stakeholder workshop in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in November 2024 for research purposes. The game is designed for both research and educational use. It requires three players and one moderator and is available in English and Russian. Adaptation to other languages is possible. Researchers interested in printing a high-quality version can contact the authors for the Adobe Illustrator files and additional print instructions.
